Plastic waste is a major problem in Sri Lanka, and it poses a significant threat to the environment and public health. In response to this issue, we have launched many initiatives to create awareness about the importance of recycling plastic waste. Here are some of the ways in which we make recycling plastics easy in our local community:
Promote recycling: Encourage people to recycle plastic waste by providing information about how and where to recycle. Encourage people to use recycling bins and promote the idea of a circular economy where plastic waste is recycled and reused instead of being disposed of.
Donate recycling bins: We have donated recycling bins to many schools and public places to encourage the younger generations and the public to discard plastic in the correct manner that is easy for recycling. We also encourage businesses to participate in recycling initiatives by providing recycling bins in their offices and promoting the use of recycled materials in their products.
Educate the public: Educate people about the environmental impact of plastic waste, the benefits of recycling, and the importance of reducing plastic consumption. Raise awareness about the need to reduce single-use plastic items like bags, straws, and water bottles.
Partner with local organizations: We join hands with NGOs and community groups, to increase awareness about plastic waste and recycling. We also collaborate with them to organize educational events, clean-up campaigns, and recycling drives.
